HASTELLOY® C-276 filler metal is used for C-276 alloy gas metal, gas tungsten arc, and submerged welding. When greater corrosion resistance is required, HASTELLOY® C-276 is also a viable choice for steel overlay and cladding. Dissimilar welding applications include other nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys and stainless steels.
Hastelloy® C-276 Filler Wires are resistant to the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, thus making them suitable for most chemical process applications in an as-welded condition. Alloy C-276 Welding Wires also have excellent resistance to pitting, stress-corrosion cracking, and oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900 degrees F. Hastelloy C-276 Filler Wires have exceptional resistance to a wide variety of chemical environments. Hastelloy C-276 Filler Wires also provide superior corrosion resistance to wet chlorine gas, chlorine dioxide, hypochlorite solutions, brine, and seawater.
Hastelloy C276 Filler Wire is used in aerospace, pollution control, chemical plants, and other high corrosive conditions. The material has higher corrosion resistance even at elevated temperatures. It can also be used in acid production units and in acidic processing applications as well.
