Description
HASTELLOY® C-86 Filler Wire is used for gas metal and gas tungsten arc welding of UNS N06686 and similar alloys. The filler metal is used as a corrosion-resistant overlay on carbon and low alloy steels, as well as overmatching filler metal in alloys with comparable compositions, such as C-276. The spooled wire's matte texture aids smooth feeding through welding equipment and reduces tip wear in contact tips.
In hot, concentrated acid chloride solutions such as sulfur dioxide, saturated NaCl solutions, and oxidizing chloride solutions, HASTELLOY® C-86 Filler Wire resists crevice corrosion. In strongly oxidizing settings, it provides resistance to intergranular attack following sensitization.
HASTELLOY® C-86 Filler Wire has excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of harsh situations. Its high nickel (Ni) and molybdenum (Mo) content give good resistance to reducing media, whereas its high chromium (Cr) content provides resistance to oxidizing media.
HASTELLOY® C86 Filler Wires are ideal for a variety of industrial welding applications, including offshore and maritime facilities, as well as petroleum, chemical, and power generation plants.
