Hastelloy G-35 filler metal, commonly known as Hastelloy G-35 welding wire, is a kind of Hastelloy G-35 wire with good welding properties. Hastelloy G-35 filler metal can be used for welding mainstream Hastelloy G-35s, such as INCONEL series alloys, INCOLOY series alloys, and MONEL series alloys. It is also capable of welding stainless oxidizing carbon steel. MIG welding, tungsten inert gas shielded welding, and submerged arc welding all employ Hastelloy G-35 filler metal to join various nickel alloys. It may also be used for steel surfacing welding.
HASTELLOY® G-35® Filler Wire is used for gas metal and gas tungsten arc welding of G-35® alloy. The weld wire has excellent corrosion resistance to "fertilizer-grade" phosphoric acid, other oxidizing acids, alkalis, and chloride-bearing environments.
Because of its high chromium concentration, G-35® alloy is very resistant to various oxidizing acids, such as nitric acid and nitric acid combinations. Because of its significant molybdenum concentration, it has modest resistance to reducing acids, and, unlike other nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, it is particularly resistant to "caustic de-alloying" in hot sodium hydroxide. At high temperatures, the weld formed by Hastelloy G-35 filler wire has higher strength, better corrosion resistance, better oxidation resistance, and higher creep-rupture strength.
