Hastelloy W alloy is a nickel-based superalloy that contains nickel, molybdenum, chromium, cobalt, and other metals. The nickel percentage of Hastelloy W alloy is around 60%. HASTELLOY® W alloy (UNS N10004) is a solid-solution-strengthened super alloy that was designed primarily as filler wire for dissimilar alloy welding. It has outstanding dissimilar welding capabilities and is frequently utilized in the gas turbine and aerospace sectors for that reason. The characteristics of dissimilar weld connections created using alloy W vary depending on the alloys welded, but are typically satisfactory for a wide range of combinations. Alloy W is also a wrought alloy utilized in a few ring-type applications in earlier gas turbine engines. It is suitable for straight cutting length wire in gas tungsten arc welding, layer coiled wire in gas shielded metal arc welding and covered electrode.
Hastelloy®W is used as a weld metal filler wire for high-temperature applications like Wire Wound Resistors, Bimetal Contacts, Electric, and Electronic Applications, Marine Engineering, Chemical, and Hydrocarbon Processing Equipment, Gasoline and Freshwater Tanks, etc.
