Description
SFA5.5 AWS E 8018-C1 is nearest Identification: Name printed
Hydrogen controlled, basic coated iron powder type electrode. Presence of Mn & Ni in appropriate proportion imparts to weld metal a high degree of low temperature notch toughness. The electrode is thus well suited for welding fine grained steels, HSLA steels, used in warships, bridges, pressure vessels, tanks, etc., and nickel steels used in tanks & piping for liquefied gases.
Base materials: DMR 249A for warships
ASTM A 203 Grades A & B
Fine grained constructional steel as per DIN:TT St, 26,29,32,36.39,43 Steels for low temperature service as per DIN:TT St 35N, TT St 35V, TT St 41V, 14Ni 14, 16 Ni 14
