The HAYNES® 556® alloy is used for welding the HAYNES® HR-120® alloy to itself using gas metal arc and gas tungsten arc processes. Additionally, it is an excellent material for welding other high-temperature alloys such as HR-160® alloy and other nickel and cobalt materials. Its RTWTM filler metal finish promotes smooth feeding through welding equipment and reduces tip wear in contact with high-temperature corrosive environments such as WTE, heat treating, refineries, and boilers.
It is possible to weld the Haynes® 556® alloy using Gas Tungsten Arc, (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc (GMAW), Shielded and resistance welding techniques, however, Submerged Arc welding is not recommended, as this process is characterized by high heat input to the. For shielded metal arc welding, matching composition filler metal should be used. Metal Arc (SMAW), base metal, and slow cooling of the weld, both of these factors can cause weld restraint and promote cracking. We make dimensionally correct and long-lasting Filler Wire by employing cutting-edge procedures and modern technologies.
